As we all take a few well earned days to rest, relax and recuperate, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge just a few of the people who have helped get the first few months of the 2014-2015 school year off to a great start.
First, a huge thank you to our the Woodhaven Middle School Parent Council for coordinating lunch for the staff on our recent Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences and to all of our parents for your very generous food donations. Being new to the Woodhaven Learning Community, it was amazing to see the support of our parents on these days. I know the staff and I certainly appreciated your efforts and home-cooked meals!
Also, with the beginning of November upon us, the Volleyball season is wrapping up. You may have noticed on our @WoodhavenMS twitter feed or on our Wolfpack Athletics Blog some of the great results and fantastic effort put forth by our kids and coaches. If you have a child on one of these teams, give them a pat on the back and definitely thank your child’s coach, we couldn’t do it without them.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge and thank Mr. Winkel, Ms. St. Amand and their team for putting together a very respectful and moving Remembrance Day Ceremony this past Friday. Our students were engaged, educated and extremely respectful during the entire ceremony. I was extremely proud of each and every one of them during this assembly.
Also, just a quick reminder that as December approaches report cards are coming soon. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher over the next few days to check in. We know that consistent communication between home and school is critical to ensure the success of our kids.
